LS9 6.2L V-8 for 2009 Corvette ZR1
Chevrolet released pictures of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 engine which is named 'LS9'. LS9 is a supercharged 6.2 Litre V-8 engine that produces about 620 horsepower (462 kW), and approximately 595 lb.-ft. of torque (823 Nm).

Today, Chevrolet
revealed the long awaited Corvette ZR1 online, prior to its public debut
that will take place at the 2008 Detroit Show in January. When ZR1
arrives next summer, the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will be the most
powerful and fastest production car ever produced by General Motors,
with performance enabled by a new, supercharged 6.2L LS9 small-block V-8
engine. LS9 V-8 engine is targeted at producing at least 100 horsepower
per liter, or 620 horsepower (462 kW), and approximately 595 lb.-ft. of
torque (823 Nm)
